Mijito Lindo

After a trip to the Ranch and our Saturday night Dinner we came home. This evening, John and I caught up on our dvr'd shows. We haven't seen Castle in so long. While we watched TV, I made this page.

Holidays In Hand

Today is Day 1 of Jessica Sprague's Holidays In Hand course. Assignment 1 calls for us to write down our Goals for the Holiday Season. Assignment 2 encourages us to find at least 20 minutes each day to write, blog, photograph.... I am especially excited about Assignment 2 because I think it will help me destress and give me an opportunity to do what I crave whenever I have free time. So...my goal is to have Christmas shopping done by Dec 1. I know, it's a lofty one, but I think it's an appropriate time of the year to have Faith. I also want a beautiful Christmas Tree since this will be the first Christmas tree we have. (In the past, we've had small ones; this year, I ordered a 9 footer and I've begun to work on the Christmas Ornaments.) Ceci loves to bake so we have to do plenty of it this Holiday season and I would like to take tons of pictures since this will be Kazen's first Christmas. Lastly, I can't wait to take these 20 minute opportunities to scrap book a few pages before the time gets away from me. Have you thought about the holidays yet?

Happy Halloween!!

We've been pretty excited about this Halloween since this is the first Halloween C will go trick or treating. She decided a while ago she wanted "to be a Super Hero, Not a Super Villain!" As they left the house to go trick or treating, I couldn't tell who was more excited; Daddy or C.

Kazen Rene

Oh Wow, it's been such a long time since I've written! Our son, Kazen was born on June 30th. He was born a whopping 7lbs 6 ozs at 34 weeks! We were surprised that he weighed more than C whom I had at 38 weeks. We were relieved that he was born healthy and with 10 toes. After 2 weeks, I started driving (Woohoo!!!Freedom!!) and trying to go back to my "Normal Life" only I didn't really know what our "normal life" would be like since the addition of the baby. We have settled into a routine that we're happy with. It's pretty much, don't go anywhere with the baby. It is such a Production to go anywhere with him. We had become so accustomed to living an easy life with C, traveling with Baby was a shock to my system. But we have quickly adapted and if I learned anything from C, I learned that children go through phases pretty quickly. Soon, he will be eating and sitting up, then trying to crawl and teething. It all goes by so fast, I'm trying to enjoy it and take it all in. We are so Thankful for him.

Where were you 2 years ago today?

I was looking through my pictures tonight and noticed the date on these. 2 years ago today Perla and I were in Spain because Omar was playing Tennis over there. Although we didn't get to see him play Tennis, we had so much fun. In fact, I guess you could say that Perla and I had all the fun for him. He spent most of his time playing Tennis in the immense heat against Pro-Tennis players. Perla and I spent time in Madrid and Barcelona. We took a quick trip to Barcelona and Loved It! I got to eat my Spanish Paella with my Sangria on the Barceloneta ( Spanish Mediterranean Sea) The weather was cool and the water was too, but we didn't travel all that way for nothing. Can't wait to go back!

I'm Huge!!!!

According to my mother in law And my mother; I'm Huge!! I really am and I feel so lucky to be at this stage. Any day now, I can have this baby. I'm so excited, So Ready!!! At almost 37 weeks, he weighs over 6 lbs. For the last month, I've been drinking Ensure and trying to be good. I've only snuck away and driven my car twice. (You have no idea how much I miss driving!) I realize now that at any moment, he will be here; so I'm trying to enjoy the last of my "Me" time. There's nothing like reading a good book in your favorite pj's. I can't believe they still fit. Right about now, not much does. But I don't really care.. Wish me luck!

Happy Belated Daddy's Day ....

I'm beginning to see an end in sight.

We have the furniture in Baby's room set up, but as far as any decorating goes, I figure I'll do that after he gets here. After having a pretty uneventful pregnancy, this week was different. I went for my checkup this week and he told us that Baby was so low he could actually feel his head! That was the bad news. The good news was that I wasn't dilated and my cervical stitch (for my Incompetent Cervix)is holding up pretty well. I have been back on strict bedrest, they want him to hold on until around 34 weeks. So, I have been really good, trying to enjoy my, what seems like last few weeks, of bedrest. If only I could bottle a few hours of "Me" or "Sleep" time. I am now beginning to feel a little anxious. Since I've been back on strict bedrest, I have been glued to the computer. I've turned into a bit of a recluse because I've been trying to complete this online Digital Scrapbooking Course. It's so much fun, I highly recommend it.

Here's another...

I'm having too much fun digital scrapbooking! This picture was taken by my super talented sister in law, Melissa. Check out her blog to the right. C pretends to be her by playing with my tripod and trying to get me to smile for her camera. It's so funny! C loves to take pics with her Auntie Melissa! She's so lucky to have such a talented Auntie.

30 Weeks!

Today I reached a milestone....30 Weeks! My Dr. is letting up a Little on the whole bedrest thing, which is really nice. Now my only problem is that I easily get tired. John finally finished C's "big girl" room and she loves it! Next project? Baby's Room. Still not sure what I'm going to do there, but whatever it is, I need to figure it out fast.
Lately, I've been glued to my computer. Here is my first Digital Scrapbooking page. I'm so excited.

My Pickles & Ice Cream Baby Shower

Last Sunday, my very dear friends, Marissa Castaneda and Berenice Lopez were gracious enough to host a Baby Shower for me! We had such a great time at the best maternity store around; Pickles and Ice Cream! I want to thank everyone for coming and making this Such a Special event. I wasn't able to open gifts at the shower which was a bummer because John and I received THE CUTEST things. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! In case you're wondering...The cake was so delicious (remember, I am a Cakeaholic) and the rocket on the cake symbolizes my dream for my little boy. Auntie Amanda and I figured out that if all goes well, he will be a Proud Member of the Fightin' Texas Aggies Corp of Cadets Class of 2030! Whoop! After that, his daddies plans for him include the Naval Academy which would put him on a great track to becoming an Astronaut( the Astronaut thing is my thing)! Voila, there you go, Go Big or Go Home, right?
Check out gifts and pics at this website.

Starting a new project....

Since I've been on bedrest, I've gotten really good at making yo-yo's. I'm working on making a stuffed yo-yo elephant for baby. I had a lot of fun picking out these fabrics. I wonder how long it will take me, I have to make a ton! Hopefully, you'll see the finished product soon.

Let us eat Cake!

In celebration of 27 weeks, C and I made a strawberry short cake. Lately, her favorite snack has been "Strawberries and Cream." Today, I thought we'd change it up a bit and bake something. We had so much fun and she said it was Delicious!

Finally getting rid of my cold!!

I have been battling a cold for the last week or so. Thankfully though, I think I'm finally recovering. Last Thursday, misery set in, and I've had to live through this drug free. Since I'm pregnant, my Dr. refused to prescribe an antibiotic. Oh, how I miss my drugs. I'm a terrible sick person. John and C spent Easter with his sister in DC, while I stayed at home with mom and dad. It was nice but I definitely missed them.

Do I get bored?

It's been a while. I've been trying to wrap up things for work, getting ready to paint C's room, etc. Everyone asks me if I get board being on bedrest. My response? No, believe it or not, I always find something to do, there is always something I didn't get done and will have to wait until tomorrow. I have good days and not so good days, on my not so good days I lay in bed all day and watch tv, which then ends up giving me a headache. On a good day, I get up, get ready, watch The View (while having breakfast), watch All My Children, then get to working on my to do list. Today, Kim, my future business partner, came over to help me prep for an upcoming baby shower. Thank you So Much!!!
Today at my appointment my wonderful Dr. asked John and I when we were planning on getting pregnant again after this one. All I could do was glare at him.

Friday, March 20, 2009

Hi there,
I'm so excited that I finally got this up and running. I've been bedridden for Almost 2 months now due to my pregnancy. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant (yay! I'm a little more than halfway there!) and have approximately 8 more weeks to go before I can start to breathe a little easier. If all goes well, I will be on bed rest until the latter part of July. It hasn't been so bad, some days are better than others, I keep my eye on the prize. But I'm excited, my best girl friend from forever ago is coming to see me tomorrow! More on that later......
